Being a SAP Consultant and Mentor.

Every one likes to advice and be a mentor to other, So does I. From my exp. I have found that it's not that easy to guide some one.

Since last year I am actively answering to queries from different people, I got connected to over 200 people. Every one has unique query, but the most common was: Help me to find a Job.

I have tried to help majority of them by giving guidance. (what more I can do?) many has asked me for back door entry or a short cut. I know it's difficult to answer to those query and more difficult for people to digest the answer. But the fact remains: u need to work hard to get into SAP field. Companies are paying good salary & looking for 2-3+ yrs. experienced consultant. So for those who are freshers and struggling to come on board it's hard time and it's time to put lot of efforts.

Being an SAP consultant is a challenge. You need to know technology and business both. So while a person is preparing to enter in SAP; he has to start with a HABIT of knowing Business as much as he can.

SAP TechEd and Community Day At Bangalore.

SAP TechEd is most happening event, started in 2004. Every year technical consultants working on SAP and Related ERP projects attend TechEd. It costs between 12000 to 17000 to register.

At teched you can get exposure to latest developement and industry trends. It can be a source of reach information and venue to create a worthy social network.

I have attended TechEd this year between 27th to 30th Nov at KTPO ground Bangalore. If I keep terrfic traffic experiance of Bangalore aside then remaining experiance was great.

I have choosen to focus on three areas : Upgrade, Solution Manger and SOA. I am statisfied with the knowledge I got.

Addition to this event I got chance to attend community day on 26th Nov at SAP Labs. Community Day is annual gathering of SDN and BPX members. It been was very encouraging; to meet fewllow contributer and to learn their perspective is memorable. Ontop the staff manging community, maily Marliyn, Gali and Craig been very enthusiasitic in sharing their knowledge and learning from fellow community members on improving community. Main achievement of community day event is getting first hand information about SAP's plan in areas of community based learning.

The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness.

A book by Dr. Stephen Covey, is a real transformer. I have got lot form that Book. I sincerely suggest my friends and dear ones to have that book and read - re-read for many times. It's also available in mp3 format. We can listen to it and slowly start creating difference in our lives. Link to the site: http://www.stephencovey.com/8thHabit/8thhabit.php

"Voice is unique personal significance—significance that is revealed as we face our greatest challenges and that makes us equal to them."
—Dr. Stephen R. Covey, from The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness

"Perhaps the most important vision of all is to develop a sense of self, a sense of your own destiny, a sense of your unique mission and role in life, a sense of purpose and meaning."

Commitment to Create A Social Network.

I have dreamed about creating an active social network in 1996 after passing from DDIT, Nadiad.

I have started a company Networld technologies (later diversified into Netvision the JAVA Guru) to manifest the dream. I have trained many professionals in area of Internet, HTML, JAVA and other web development tools.Developed E-Governance Portal for Government of Gujarat: http://www.mahitishakti.net/ and initiated a great portal http://www.akshardham.com/ in 1999 I have reserved domains like www.indiaalumni.com/ , www.indiaschools.com , www.indiacareer.com and www.indiacolleges.com as a part of the project but now this domains are owned by some one else.

Time, skill and habit of keeping commitment has brought many diversions in this progress. Tough time has taken and given many things to me. But I have always believed in making and keeping commitments and this is a word very near to my heart. And that's why it's the 1st letter of CAN.
I will post details of ACT and Now in next postings.

I am sure my dream to create such network will come true one day, I have long way to go and I will keep walking till I reach there.

At present I am involved in developing ERP solutions using SAP. and I am dedicating my self to a community called SDN. You can visit it at http://www.sdn.sap.com/
